Job Description

Position Summary:
Provides safe transportation to and from program sites. May also provide support in other areas as assigned.

Essential Functions:
1. Drives bus safely according to YMCA policies and procedures and state laws.
2. Completes thorough before-and-after trip checks each day and record all information. Records gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms. Cleans out bus each day.
3. Promotes safety at all times by keeping first aid supplies fully stocked.
4. Ensures that bus rules are announced and followed.
5. Communicates regularly with other staff members and supervisor.
6. Attend all staff meetings, trainings and other YMCA functions as required by Supervisor
7. Maintain open lines of communication with participant, parents, staff and supervisor.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Must be at least 21 years of age.
3. First Aid and CPR required.
4. Must meet California and Federal requirements and YMCA Transportation qualifications regarding MVR report and maintain satisfactory driving record.
5. Must complete Association Training and testing program.
6. Must have current Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
7. Class B/Youth Bus or Class C license and MVR report.
8. Criminal Clearance including fingerprints
9. Health Exam Screening with Negative TB test and Negative Drug Test Screening.
10. Complete ALL online required training(s).
11. Experience as a van driver preferred.


Working Conditions:

Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor facilities (e.g. childcare and recreational sites); exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials; work on slippery or uneven surfaces. Noise level is usually moderate to loud. While in this position the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places.
