Job Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for managing and supervising the activities of a program with the direct support of the Associate Executive Director.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Manages program activities to meet YMCA objectives (see detailed list below).
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers as Reviews and evaluates staff performance.
- Manages established program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program May review and process program scholarship applications.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- College Degree and/or equivalent experience
- CPR, First Aid and AED certification required
- Experience with various training formats (i.e. Cycle, TRX, HipHop Step, Zumba, Aqua, etc.)
- ACE, AFAA or other nationally recognized certifications required
- Experience with programming group fitness schedules
- Basic knowledge of fitness facility operations
- Experience with recruiting, scheduling, and managing instructors
- Experience with program development and analyzing data
- Budget and sales experience (desirable)
- Ability to be flexible and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- 4 or more years of experience in related field
- Experience in program leadership and staff supervision
- Ability to handle multiple assignments, organizational skills, basic PC and typing skills
- Additional Requirements: Criminal Clearance: Including Fingerprints and background clearance
- Health Screening with Tb and Neg. Drug Test Screening
- Complete all required online trainings
- Experience with fitness equipment and gym floor layouts
- Experience with addressing equipment needs and scheduling maintenance
- Responsible for overall cleanliness of the facility and supporting classroom management
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor facilities (e.g., fitness and recreational sites); exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials; work on slippery or uneven surfaces. Noise level is usually moderate.
