Food Service Coordinator - Camp Oakes

Position Summary:
Delivers high quality food service to all camp participants. Supervises kitchen staff, trains new employees and helps food service director with ordering and staff schedule.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee, manage and deliver meals in the dining hall and for various cookouts.
- Oversee and prepare food for meals and manage food lines.
- Supervises kitchen staff, provides direction and assigns tasks.
- Supports Food Service Director with training and orientation of new staff.
- Ensure county health dept. food service requirements are followed at all times.
- Assist in the orientation of each group on the proper techniques of the Dining Hall.
- Regularly check inventory for appropriate levels and ensure rotation of product is taking place.
- Ensure dining hall and kitchen supplies, equipment are kept in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Report all incidents immediately to the immediate supervisor.
- Inspect activity areas; ensure no hazards are present and set boundaries and the safety and wellbeing of the participants.
- Ensures that respect for the backgrounds and needs of all participant and staff are integrated into both program planning and implementation.
- Maintain positive role model and attitude.
- Attend all staff meetings, trainings and other YMCA functions as required by Supervisor.
- Maintain open lines of communication with participant, staff and supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- County food handler card required.
- 2 plus years of experience in food service, commercial kitchen experience preferred.
- Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Criminal Clearance including Fingerprints
- Health screening exam, with negative tb test and negative drug test screening.
- Complete all required online training(s).
Working Conditions:
Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor facilities (e.g. kitchen and recreational sites); exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials; work on slippery or uneven surfaces. Noise level is usually moderate.
